Merry Maids of Halifax: Proudly giving back to our local community

Caring for our community and our home

Being part of our local community is a big part of our business here at Merry Maids of Halifax. Any way we are able to give back or make a difference is important to us. Take a look at some of the local organizations we’ve had the privilege of showing our support for over the years.

Cleaning For A Reason

Merry Maids takes pride in cleaning your home just the way you like it. Helping our customers get what they want is very important to us. In the spirit of helping, we are once again a part of the Cleaning For A Reason program. Cleaning For A Reason was created to help those who are fighting cancer and stretches across North America. This organization partners with maid services, offering cleaning to those who are undergoing cancer treatment. To date, this program has supplied 17,000 cleanings (a value of 4 million dollars) and worked with more than 1000 maid services.

Easter Seals Drop Zone

Currently, 16% of Canadians are living with some form of disability. Easter Seals decided to support these people by establishing the Easter Seals Drop Zone. An adrenaline pumping fundraising adventure encouraging people to flee their comfort zone, participants challenge themselves all across Canada – including Halifax. The organization raises thousands of dollars to support those with disabilities and Merry Maids of Halifax is honoured to back this worthy cause.

Hope Cottage

Merry Maids of Halifax is an active member of the Halifax community, much like Hope Cottage. Established by Fr. Joe Mills in 1971, this charitable organization exists to provide meals to those who cannot afford to obtain meals themselves. Feeding over 200 meals a day from Monday to Friday, this influential operation has always put people first – a value we share at Merry Maids.

Elizabeth Fry Society

The Elizabeth Fry Society of Mainland Nova Scotia is a non-profit charity passionately working alongside vulnerable women and girls to provide important welfare support. They respond to the needs of women through education, advocacy, housing, employment and emotional support. Merry Maids of Halifax is a strong advocate of the life-changing work they achieve.

Bryony House

No women or children should ever have to face abuse. The Halifax Transition House Association of Nova Scotia (Bryony House) provide shelter and a safe refuge for those suffering from abusive relationships. Entrenched in the Halifax community in the spirit of helping, Merry Maids of Halifax is proud to support this inspirational organization.

CTV Christmas Daddies Telethon

Every child deserves a Christmas to remember. Ever since 1964, CTV Christmas Daddies Telethon is a live festive broadcast with complete assistance from Nova Scotia volunteers – young and young at heart. Encouraging pledges to benefit less fortunate children, Merry Maids of Halifax proudly supports this worthy cause.

Halifax Military Resource Centre (H&R MFRC)

Halifax Military Resource Centre is a community organization existing for the betterment of military families’ lives. With a 30 year history, H&R MFRC work with the government and Nova Scotia groups to meet the needs of those impacted by military life. Merry Maids of Halifax was delighted to raise funds for this influential association.
